The Politeo Collection springs from the Politeo Gallery.
The Gallery –wich became world-wide famous as the first private gallery in the former socialist block– was opened by Toni Politeo in 1977 on the issland Faros (Hvar), in the ancient castle of Petar Hektorovic (croatian poet from XVth century).
The Politeo Gallery appeared on the international scene at The Art Market from Dortmund in 1984. There followed: ART EXPO - New York, ARCO - Madrid, FIAC SAGA - Párizs, TIAS - Tokió, AAF - Ljubliana, ART EXPO - Brüsszel.
In 1996 the Collection, beside the graphics of "Galerie Politeo"
already contained graphic portfolios, also jubilee editions.
